I celebrated my connection to broadband last week after a six month wait. This has meant I can return to my Blog . This was difficult to keep up to date using "dial - up". My service supplier Westnet lived up to its reputation for supplying excellent customer service. It is good to be back.

Macro Merging Photos

My friend in the Photo Club referred me to a freeware program that enables the photographer to take macro photographs that focus on particular parts of the subject that you want to appear in focus in the final product. Usually a macro photo places some parts in focus while leaving other key parts slightly out of focus. The software combines all the images taken and seamlessly connects them together to produce a superior end result. I am about to put this to the test.
When looking for the web site I also found this important information relating to Z.

A 1980 Quintrex that was restored and with an added flooring. I am about to tow it to Hobart. My first jpourney was to the service staion where i did not allow for its width and jammed it against the bowser protection pole. I provided entertainment for the other motorists as I skilfully got it free with only a slight scratch ;and it only took me 10 minutes.

St Simons Kaleen held a Christingle service yesterday. The Christingle was introduced by a Bishop John De Watteville in Moravia as a way of telling people that God loved them.As a visual aid he took an orange and put in it four sticks to represent the seasons of the year. On these he put sweets to remind us of God's good gifts. A candle was inserted to show God's gift of Jesus as the light of the world. A red ribbon was attached round the candle to show that Jesus's love stretched right around the world and was for everyone. The photos show the Christingles

This is the new slate floor recently laid at "Woodbridge House". Julie organised this on her last visit. Carol and George did a great job preparing the floor and sealing the finished product. It faces North and will be heated by the sun in winter. ( yes there is sunshine in Tasmania)

Grandson (3) came to the Adelaide test and sat with Peter who explained to him the intricacies of Cricket .He soon could call out "warnie" and "Ooh ah McGrath " . . He soon knew to look at the screen and say "oooh " Peter became a firm favourite uncle.

Canon UK has unveiled research that shows the true environmental and cost impact of not completely turning off office equipment over the Christmas period. With many offices closing (or with skeleton staff) for up to 10 days this year, Canon research shows that the amount of energy used by office equipment – PCs, printers, photocopiers and fax machines – left on standby is enough to roast an astonishing 4.4m turkeys, which is also enough power to microwave 268m mince pies or more than 350,000 standard Christmas tree lights for 10 days.

In addition, the research shows that almost 19,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions would also be produced by these machines, enough to fill the same number of standard sized (25m) swimming pools.
